Edit: For any further news about Project X, please see the SmartCAT Boards.Project X is the temporary name for the new Immersion facility first proposed here: communitytranslation.freeforums.net/thread/12/immersion-facility-project-volunteers-neededWe are getting ready to launch this on a professional CAT (Computer Aided Translation) server platform. Over the coming weeks, members will be invited to sign up and act in various roles, which gives more control over the end-to-end translation process and should avoid some of the frustrations of working with the old Duolingo Immersion toolset.

It looks interesting but I do not understand very well what the purpose is. We need more details.

The purpose of the project is to find and implement a replacement for Duolingo Immersion, that operates in a similar way, i.e. sentence by sentence translation, with an option to edit and comment on the first translation proposed.

Sounds good! Sentence by sentence translation is what I miss. The ability simply to have a go at any sentence one feels more able to translate - instead of having to wait until someone else translates the intervening ones! Look forward to it!

To avoid needing to wait, you could try copying the original text into the translation where it has not yet been translated, and then just change it as you go. And by the way, hi!

Thanks Emilie! I haven't had a go at French yet for this reason - as well as the existing articles being a bit too advanced for me! Nice to hear from you. I have been doing some translating of Oscar Wilde from English into German - am really enjoying it, particularly the exchange with others!

I've been trying to translate things where I find my English being put to the test... Mostly I stick to dialogue, it's easier.
