Sorry this has taken so long, and thank you for your patience. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be asking for members to sign up to the new SmartCAT "Immersion" replacement facility. A few of you have already been inspecting the new premises, and setting up some trial documents to get a feel of the place. If you venture over to the SmartCAT Website you can inspect the shiny new front door and look at the various facilities that SmartCAT offers from the menu, without signing in. Please note, that whilst you can sign up as a Freelancer - and we obviously cannot stop you from doing this - I would ask you to hold off doing that for now. (Another Thread to follow about this.) Please read the Terms of Service - not all of it applies (unless you are determined to sign up as a Freelancer). We will be running the training service under what is know as an LSP - a Language Service Provider, or translation bureau. Because this is a new offering, even for SmartCAT, the Terms of Service are not specific to that operating model. However, many of the terms are implicit on you, if you choose to become a member of the LSP training website. Because we are operating on a commercial website, there will be zero tolerance for any anti-social behavior including, but not limited to: - Vandalism
- Inappropriate content
- Spamming
- Trolling
- Hate postings
There will be a full posting on this later.

I did not even know this was in the making (my fault), but I am TREMENDOUSLY EXCITED about it! I cannot tell you how encouraging this is for me. Thank you!

Hi Johanna, I think you will like what you see once it is fully operational, SussexSoleil has done a wonderful job in finding SmartCat and putting all of this in motion.

OK, I think that finally my life is such that I can become consistently active on this, or these, translation sites. Thank you so much, and I plan to check out SmartCAT.

You will need to send a message to SussexSoleil so that he can invite you to the SmartCat platform. Once he's done that you can find what interests you by looking under the SmartCat heading for translations in your chosen language, you then reply to the relevant post and that Translation Project Manager will invite you to the translation. I hope that helps but any other questions, just ask. π

Just to say I've 'had a go' on Smart Cat, and it's brilliant - very easy and intuitive to use! πππ Well done and thanks for setting this up πππ

Sussex, I have gone to the SmartCAT website several times, but cannot seem to find a Spanish section. Finally, today, I just started trying to translate a small amount of the beginning of Alice in Wonderland into Spanish. I truly, truly love the way this site works!
My problem is that I am not sure I am using it correctly. I get erroneous error messages that things are misspelled, which prompts me to think it is still set for French.
How do I reset it to Spanish? How do I find other articles to translate on the site?
Thank you so very much for letting me be part of this site. I think it will get me active in translating again, once I learn how to use it correctly.
